Successful test run!

At Vlaeynatie in Westdorpe, we successfully commissioned the new BIG BAG & bagging line last week. The first on-site test run went smoothly and marked an important step towards full completion.

Some technical highlights of the new BIG BAG & bagging line:

2 stainless steel feed hoppers lined with Kobaflex V80, equipped with discharge belts and weighing systems

Transport and conveyor belts up to 50 meters in length, with a capacity of 150 t/h

Tower structure and platforms in steel, walls clad with Rodeca panels

Swivel chute made of steel and lined with Kobaflex V80

BIG BAG hopper and weighing hopper in stainless steel, lined with Kobaflex V80

Filling installation in polished stainless steel

Control system supplied and installed by Jovatech

The installation is suitable for both bagging and BIG BAG filling, which is why several components are built in duplicate.

The product is fed into the stainless steel hopper using a wheel loader; the hopper is lined with Kobaflex V80. Once the product has been loaded, the conveyor belt stops to allow weighing. After weighing, the belt restarts and the product is transported to the screen.

In the screen, oversized pieces are removed. The product is then conveyed via a belt to the tower, which is clad with Rodeca panels. At the discharge point of the conveyor there is a swivel chute, which directs the product either towards the stainless steel hopper (lined with Kobaflex V80) for the BIG BAG machine, or towards the bagging machine. The swivel chute also has a cleaning position that allows the system to be flushed.

When the hopper has been filled to the minimum level, BIG BAG filling can begin. First, the required BIG BAG size is selected. The stainless steel weighing hopper, also lined with Kobaflex V80, is filled to the preset weight. A BIG BAG is then placed under the filling spout. The inflatable seal ensures a dust-tight connection. Next, the bag is inflated, filled with product, and the dust is extracted.

Once the BIG BAG is completely filled, it is conveyed away via a belt. Meanwhile, the weighing hopper refills, and the process is repeated.
