Mobile crusher and telescopic conveyor belt commissioned at the port of Antwerp

For 5de Havendok, we delivered a fully customised installation for the crushing and processing of fertiliser. This sustainable and efficient system contributes to safe and future-oriented bulk handling operations at the Port of Antwerp.

The system operates as follows: the product is fed via an intake hopper to the crusher, consisting of a robust shaft fitted with blades that reduce the material size. The crushed material then enters two drums positioned side by side.

The first drum is an open cage drum, allowing sufficiently reduced material to pass through. The second drum is closed and equipped with welded bars; it redirects larger fragments back to the crusher, where they are further reduced. This process continues until the product reaches the required size and is discharged through the open drum.

The final product is then deposited into the storage hall via a telescopic conveyor belt, extendable up to 16 metres. The belt has a width of 1,000 mm.

A key advantage of this installation is its ease of maintenance: both the crusher shaft and the drums, which are wear components, can be dismantled laterally. This eliminates the need to fully remove the superstructure of the installation during maintenance or replacement.
